July is no longer complete without Circuito Summer School. The fifth edition of this project offers a week totally dedicated to creativity and experimentation. In this informal school, participants will have access to a series of workshops dedicated to a wide range of areas, from video games to photography, creating musical instruments, or poetry workshops. Five days of full-time learning, collaborative creation, and sharing.

Video games and imaginary worlds

If you've ever wondered what the world of tomorrow will be like, if you imagine fictional worlds and characters, or if you've ever dreamed of creating your video game universe, then this workshop is for you! Over this day, you'll have the opportunity to create a video game as a team, designing a fictional universe with a character, their story, their mission, and the world in which they evolve.

 

Obsolete Studio is a digital art and education project. Through art and culture, they value creativity, cooperation, and the sharing of knowledge so that each person can develop their potential and contribute to a more inclusive society.

Word Workshop

Note: Participants are invited to bring a book that they like or that is important to them.

This workshop will involve reading and interpretation exercises based on poems by various authors, including Emily Dickinson. Throughout the day, participants will have access to visual and listening materials for analysing and writing, and the workshop will culminate with a voice recording of the poems worked on in the session to create a sound file.

 

Mia Tomé is an actress, voice artistand creator. In recent years she has been developing various works on female poetry, and regularly works with voice, whether in dubbing, radio, or even music.

Breaking with the idea of a traditional instrument, participants will think, discuss, build, and play a collective musical object, using end-of-life percussion instruments as raw material, which will be altered, redesigned, and coupled with other organic and electronic elements.

 

Vicente Mateus has a background in visual and sound arts and is a member of Sonoscopia Associação Cultural. He works moves between sound and design, with a special interest in collaborative movements and DIY processes.

Note: Participants can bring more or less translucent objects and botanical elements or images in digital format, and media on which they want to see their images printed.

If you're interested in alternative photographic processes, visual art, and experimenting with handmade printing techniques, this workshop is for you! Over the day, participants will learn how to create botanical prints using leaves, flowers, and other natural elements on various supports, such as paper or fabric, in a process known as cyanotype.

 

PAVAC is a cultural association that works in cultural mediation with younger audiences, to promote visual literacy through audiovisual tools.

Animated music video

Using music, during this workshop we will make a music video using traditional and digital animation techniques, exploring how images can transform music, giving it new layers of reading.

MONSTRA - Lisbon Animation Festival aims to celebrate artistic transversality, promote encounters between people from different arts, and transmit new aesthetic perspectives, using Animated Film as a base.
