When we talk about the project «Cartography of the stain» it is a comparison to make the viewer aware of the differences and similarities between the city of Guadalajara (Mexico) and Karlsruhe (Germany). Starting with the Macro perspective of the cities, to specific points where the artists will intervene each one. The project will be made up of video shots, intervened images, and original music by the artists: Gerardo Nolasco (Karlsruhe, Germany) and Paris Díaz (Guadalajara, Mexico).

Gerardo Nolasco — Karlsruhe (Germany)

Gerardo Nolasco-Rózsás is an artist, researcher and independent publisher, born in Mexico City, who works and lives in Karlsruhe. He uses a variety of media in his artistic practice, from painting, through machine learning to sound. Gerardo studied at San Carlos Academy and Universidad del Nuevo Mundo in Mexico City. He has taught and given seminars in different institutions, including at the UNAM (Mexico City), University of Art (Puebla, Mexico), Hochschule für Gestaltung, and Staatliche Akademie in Karlsruhe, Germany. 

He has exhibited at a number of art institutions and galleries in Mexico and abroad. This list includes: Centro Cultural de Arte Contemporáneo and the Rufino Tamayo Museum in Mexico City, the Kunsthalle Budapest in Hungary, the Kunsthalle Basel in Switzerland, ZKM in Karlsruhe, Art Science Exhibits at Humboldt-Universität in Berlin, and in Palazzo Albrizzi, a parallel exhibition to the 58th Venice Biennale in Venice. 

Paris Díaz — Guadalajara (Mexico)

Composer and multidisciplinary artist/creative, multi-faceted, graduated from the Music career with compositional orientation from the University of Guadalajara, she has studied courses in contemporary music in Germany and participated in international competitions within the field of composition and participating in cultural events both inside and outside her home city.
