Braga and Kosice together in Erasmus+ youth project
Youth4Bauhaus is an initiative aimed at young students focusing on themes such as sustainable development, architecture, urbanism, and ecology. During September 12-16, the project's first phase took place in the Slovak city of Kosice. During one week, 40 young people participated in workshops, visits, and conversations about urbanism and a sustainable future. Throughout the week, the students were challenged to solve sustainability and urban planning problem in a riverside area of the city. In the workshops, they worked with Minecraft and, later, each group publicly presented its proposal for solving the problem. The activities took place at the cultural center of Kasárne/Kulturpark.
The project is divided into four training activities that will take place in each of the cities involved. After this first stage in Kosice, another group of students will participate in activities in Ghent in November. Then, next year, group workshops will follow in Bucharest in February, and finally in Braga in May.
Inspired by the principles of the New European Bauhaus green approach, the project counts with the participation of 80 students, including young people with reduced mobility, deaf, and autism spectrum disorders. Youth 4 Bauhaus has as partners Teatro Circo S.A (Braga), Creative Industry Košice (Slovakia), CollectiveUp (Belgium), and GEYC Association (Romania).
