Movement, its power, and depth form a common language between video and dance. Created in 2016, the Braga International Video Dance Festival (BIVDF) serves as a stage for these two disparate, and yet so similar, artistic strands.

Over the last few years, the event has promoted the dissemination, learning, and development of choreographic artistic works with a focus on the body and technology. Using video dance as a central way of expression, the festival establishes as a reference platform for innovative interdisciplinary work, sharing, promoting, and rewarding dozens of works from over 40 countries.

This year, the new edition will take place at the gnration and will have two categories - Video Dance and Short Video Dance - and three awards - Best Video Dance, Best Short Video Dance, and Audience Choice. The winners will be chosen by the invited jury and the audience present at the event.

The Braga International Video Dance Festival is organized by Arte Total, a creation, production, and mediation structure dedicated to contemporary artistic practices. Created in 1992, its activity favors experimental work, combining performance with the visual arts, dance with music, or digital technologies with the creation of work processes and dance research.
