In the year Braga takes the title of Portuguese Capital of Culture, Circuito presents a new agenda connecting art, technology, and the community.

The programme starts in January with Cineconcerto: Pierre Bastien and Japanese animated short films, a show for discovering the world of cinema. For the older ones, the BMA Lab training cycle returns with The Radical Listener: Listening and Field Recording, a session led by multimedia artist Lawrence English.

February begins with two Mini Circuito activities: CRASSH_Babies 1.0 and CRASSH_DuoCircus invite kids to explore sound, movement, and circus arts. With the help of mentors from CeSIUM (Computer Engineering Student Centre of the University of Minho), kids aged 7 to 17 can discover robotics and programming in the new edition of CoderDojo. And speaking of new editions, in February there are three more new additions to Circuito's agenda: the first Teacher Training will empower Post-Digital Educators in the field of child-centered Literacy and Participatory Methodologies; the Guided Visits to the gnration exhibitions invite the public to discover ‘Object of Projection’, an exhibition brought to Portugal by the American musician and visual artist, Kim Gordon; dedicated to school audiences, the WE! Experimentation Workshops show how sound and movement can create incredible Mosaics of Sounds.

March brings a Teacher Training on Listening and creativity in music pedagogy; another session of Guided Visits to the exhibition by Sonic Youth legend Kim Gordon; the duo Mobile Radio rejoins Circuito in the BMA Lab cycle for a workshop on radio art; and at the end of the month the youngest take care of nature and the city's ecology in Art is a phenomenon: Sowing Colours.

Light and movement will be the main themes of April, which begins with a film session for kids - Animation and Fascination -, led by MONSTRA - Lisbon Animation Festival, and ends with BMA Lab: Lights, headset, immersion!, led by the founder and creative director of Unloop, Hélder da Rocha Pereira.

In May there will be a range of activities for the little ones (and the whole family). At the beginning of the month, video console hacking will be explored at the Experiment Station. While the mini hackers test concepts, the older ones can join Joana Patrão on Guided Visits to the exhibitions of Tatiana Macedo and Ana Vieira. Using the bodies of the performers and the audience as instruments, Before the Rain Blows the Wind invites families and schools to discover what happens when dance, music, and nature come together on stage. Music continues into the next activities and reveals itself in the WE! Experimentation Workshops: Let's create a band? (workshops for schools) and Tatabitato, a show for babies up to 3 years old. The last two activities of the month, Art is a phenomenon: Marble Everywhere and Clouds, use stories, textures, videos, and music to stimulate the creativity and imagination of the young audience.

As the summer arrives (June), so does the last workshop of the Art is a Phenomenon series. Mediated by Catarina Loureiro and Marta Pombeiro, this workshop introduces cyanotype and antotype printing techniques and reveals the magic of light and plants. Later this month, Tatiana Macedo and Ana Vieira's works will again be the protagonists of the Guided Visits to the gnration exhibitions. After four editions of sound discovery on the outskirts of Braga, the AcustiCidade project joins the new Circuito programme in a different format: a series of conversations about sound, memory, and the future of urban communities.

July is synonymous with Circuito Summer School. For five days, this activity sharpens creativity and offers workshops on video games, creative writing, percussion, cyanotype, and music videos. The Jan-Jul agenda closes with lots of music in The Colours of Sound workshop, with Carlo Giovani.

In the ongoing programme, ODE - Electronic Devices Orchestra brings together a new group of musicians and non-musicians from Braga and presents a new edition under the artistic direction of Spanish harpist Angélica Salvi. Vaivém will travel to elementary schools in the municipality of Braga to bring the youngest closer to art and culture.
