EMAP: Davor Sanvicenti selected for artist residency in Braga
gnration receives the Croatian artist David Sanvicenti to develop a new project, in the scope of the European Media Arts Platform (EMAP). During the months he will be in Braga, the artist will be preparing a new project that will later be presented at gnration and in the various spaces that also integrate the EMAP network.
Davor Sanvincenti is a multimedia artist, born in Croatia. His artistic practice is related to audiovisual phenomenology and the anthropology of visual culture, mainly focused on the conditions and forms of the human senses and perceptions, and ranges from film to video, photography, physical installations of light and sound, and live performances. The Croatian artist also explores the concept of illusion through the borders of perception and the construction of experience. In 2010, he won the Radoslav Putar Award for the best Croatian artist under 35.
Some of Sanvicenti's works are in public collections at the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art Rijeka, FRAC Pays de la Loire - Carquefou, Museum of Fine Arts Osijek, Museum Lapidarium - Novigrad and Museum of Contemporary Art Zagreb.
The European Media Art Platform is a European network that includes fifteen renowned European institutions that focus their work on promoting Media Art, of which gnration is a member.
