EMAP Perspective #2 is an exhibition that explores the triangular relationship between nature, human beings, and technology. Initially presented as part of the Art and Technology Biennial - INDEX programme, promoted by Braga Media Arts, the second group exhibition by EMAP - European Media Arts Platform at gnration brings together five works by European artists who, through different themes and studies, find something in common in the processes of convergence and divergence of these three elements.

Hevea Act 6: An Elastic Continuum, by artist and researcher Bethan Hughes, uses the testimonies of women who work in the cultivation, processing, and exploitation of the Russian dandelion to narrate the history and journey of this plant from the Tien Shan mountains in Kazakhstan to Soviet farms and the greenhouses of Auschwitz.Advice Well Taken, by Russian technocritical artist Dasha Ilina, documents the myths and folk tales surrounding the complex and opaque functionalities of modern technologies, demonstrating the correlation between human beings and technology. Stranger to the Trees, by Kat Austen, questions the climate crisis and examines the existence of microplastics in nature, revealing how human waste passes from the soil to the roots of the trees. In Unknown Label, French artist Nicolas Gourault documents the daily reality of the micro-workers who annotate the images used by autonomous vehicle recognition systems, exposing the power asymmetries and neo-colonialist exploitation associated with this process. Hardly Working, by the collective Total Refusal, presents a film centered on the non-player characters (NPCs) in the video game "Red Dead Redemption 2", analyzing how endless routines perpetuate the social vision and status quo of these prisoners of the digital world. These are the five works included in the EMAP Perspective #2 exhibition, on display at gnration rooms and galleries until 16 August.

Since its inception, the EMAP – European Media Art Platform residencies have produced highly acclaimed works created in various member institutions of the platform. EMAP Perspective is a group exhibition organised by gnration that brings together works developed in this context, seeking to publicise the work of emerging artists working in Media Art in Europe.
