A visit to Lourdes Castro‘s studio sparked Lee Ranaldo and Leah Singer’s fascination with the Portuguese artist's work. With the dream of a collaboration that never happened, the famous guitarist and founding member of Sonic Youth, and the photographer and multimedia artist revisit the work of Lourdes Castro in a masterclass presented in Braga and promoted by Circuito as part of the BMA lab cycle.

Starting from their collaborative work 'Contre Jour’ - which they will also present at the gnration on 30 November - where Lee gives voice to his electric guitar and Leah crosses photograms from her film with live shadows, the duo delve into the essence of their partnership and share how they reinterpret the diversity of materials and techniques present in the work of the Portuguese artist.

‘BMA lab: Considering the Shadow’ is the name of the workshop that takes place on 30 November at 10:30 a.m. at gnration. The session has a maximum of 50 participants and will be conducted in English. Tickets are available online at BOL, at the gnration and Theatro Circo counters, and at the usual ticket points. Learn more about the masterclass at bragamediaarts.com/circuito.
