Celebrating its 38th edition, the EMAF - European Media Art Festival, held in Osnabrück (Germany), invites media artists from all over the world to share their work in cinema, exhibitions and virtual reality (VR)

To create a programme with film screenings, exhibitions and conferences, the initiative seeks to give international artistic creation a stage, bringing together authors from all over the world in the German city. For that, each artist can submit a maximum of three proposals, from live performances to interactive works, workshops, presentations, or panels. The winners will receive a cash prize of €400, and have the opportunity to integrate the festival programme, which takes place from 23 to 27 April (the exhibition programme runs until 25 May).

The open call ends on 10 January 2025. More information at www.emaf.de/en/. Applications should be submitted here.

The European Media Art Festival Osnabrück (EMAF) has its origin in a workshop for experimental films at the Department of Media Studies at the University of Osnabrück. This initiave resulted in a film meeting called “Experimental Film Workshop” (1981), and the foundation of the association of the same name, which is still the sponsor of the EMAF today. Seven years later, the 'Film and Television Year' proclaimed by the EU, gave the festival a new direction, leading the students to come up with a new concept: the ‘European Media Art Festival’.
