Climate change has become a focus of discussion in various artistic areas. Combining cinema, science, and sustainability, the city of Potsdam in Germany promotes an open call for the Green Visions Potsdam Film Festival.

Green Visions Potsdam is a unique festival that highlights the environmental issues surrounding the future of our planet. Through the universe of cinema, the festival brings new visions of the threats caused by human beings, transforming films and entertainment into sources of information, debate, and international climate research, leading audiences to reflect on climate change and the role that society can play in improving the future.

With the Potsdam Film Museum as its backdrop, the new edition of the festival invites filmmakers from UNESCO Creative Cities in the fields of Film, Media Arts, and Gastronomy to submit short films that reflect on themes such as sustainability, nature, environmental protection, and climate change. The films submitted must have a maximum length of 20 minutes and have been produced between 2022 and 2025. There are no restrictions on the film genre.

Once selected, the authors of the works will be invited to participate in a special section of the festival, which will take place in Potsdam from 22 to 25 May 2025.

Applications must be sent by email to creativecityoffilm@potsdam.de until 31 January 2025. The application email must include the link to the film screening, the film title, the year of production, the synopsis, the name of the director(s), and their UNESCO Creative City.
