Since 2015, Laboratórios de Verão has established a prominent position in supporting artistic creation in the district of Braga. Promoted by gnration, CIAJG - Centro Internacional das Artes José de Guimarães and, this year, also by SOLAR - Galeria de Arte Cinemática, in Vila do Conde, the programme invites artists and groups resident in or from the district of Braga or in the municipality of Vila do Conde to integrate an artistic residency focused on image, sound, performance, interactivity, music, dance or the intersection between these areas.

The initiative aims to support four emerging artists and the creation of original artistic languages, proposing the development of public presentations based on experimentation. The residency will last at least four weeks, divided between two weeks at CIAJG (Guimarães) and two at gnration (Braga), with the possibility of extending the artists' public presentation to SOLAR (Vila do Conde).

The selected artists will receive a prize of €2,000 (referring to artistic cachet and purchase of materials), help with the production and technical part of the project, curatorial support, and an additional monetary grant, to be discussed later between the artist and the organization in the case of a possible subsequent presentation at LAC (Lagos).

Applications are open until April 7, and the results will be announced on May 7.
