OPEN CALL: ZERO1 Festival
Created at the University of La Rochelle in France as part of the Master's program Direction de Projets Audiovisuels et Numériques, the ZERO1 Festival stands out as a milestone in three different areas: the dialogue between architectural heritage and contemporary creation; the importance of digital technologies in the cultural sector; and the professionalisation of young artists, researchers and future directors of cultural institutions.
To support international artists and organisations linked to the cultural field, the Festival promotes an open call where participants can submit original works projected in various formats, from installations, video art performances, mapping, virtual reality, augmented reality, video games, software art, and sound design. All works submitted must be related to the theme behind the 10th edition of the Festival - ‘Slowing down’.
The call is divided into three areas of participation: creation, distribution, and anti-colloquium. The creation area will reward four projects with a cash prize of up to €5,000 per project; funding of €500 for transport and accommodation costs; and technical support throughout the installation of the work in the exhibition space. Applications for this axis close on 29 September 2024.
The distribution area aims to support up to 10 projects with a maximum budget of €2,000 per project and a funding of €500 for transport and accommodation costs. Applications for this axis are open until 15 October 2024.
In the anti-colloquium area, the winners will receive €500 for transport and accommodation costs. Applications close on 15 November 2024.
