"Contemporary Circus" and "Media Arts" are the two new international open calls promoted by the Municipality of Santa Maria da Feira, within the temperART project, part of the Santa Maria da Feira Creative City of Gastronomy UNESCO program.

Aimed at cultural, creative and gastronomic agents, the first call - "Contemporary Circus" - seeks to support a project designed for the public space, which adds value to the cultural and gastronomic heritage of Santa Maria da Feira, bringing new visions that cross gastronomy and contemporary circus.

The site-specific creation for the historic center of Santa Maria da Feira, unconventional spaces, and cultural facilities within the perimeter of the festival will be some of the elements valued by the jury of this call. The selected project will be presented at Imaginarius - International Street Theater Festival, in 2025.

The second call - "Media Arts" - focuses on the development of a contemporary creation in virtual and/or augmented reality, Bio Art, robotics or other projects linking the Media Arts to gastronomy, through residencies at the ICC - Imaginarius Creation Center and gnration. 

The selected project will be presented at the FOOD 4 Thought international conference, from April 2 to 4, 2025, when the city of Santa Maria da Feira will host representatives of UNESCO creative cities from all over the world.

The open calls are open until March 8 and are aimed at people up to the age of 35. Each of the two selected projects will receive financial support of up to 16,000€. The rules and forms are available at www.imaginarius.pt/chamadas/temperart/. The results will be announced on April 22.
