‘Operational Hoaxes’ is the topic that opens the discussion in the sixth episode of the European Digital Deal Podcast, co-funded by the European Union’s Creative Europe programme.

Led by Ana-Maria Carabelea, the latest podcast conversation invites Martyna Marciniak (Polish artist, 3D designer, and researcher) and Jussi Parikka (Finnish theorist and professor) to reflect on disinformation, non-factual aesthetics, and the visual landscape, questioning the relationship between artificial images and the material realities they (re)produce.

Starting from the perspective that technological forgeries easily turn into disinformation, being discarded by the public that receives them, the guests analyze how this can become too abrupt an end to a discussion about the role of synthetic images in our visual landscape.

This and previous episodes are available online at ars.electronica.art/eudigitaldeal/en/podcasts-publications/ and on streaming platforms (Apple Podcast, Spotify, etc.).
