gnration hosts the EMAP Networking Conference
The city of Braga will host the annual meeting of EMAP—the European Media Art Platform—with gnration serving as the host for artists, curators, researchers, and representatives of European institutions working at the intersection of art, technology, and science, from May 7 to 9.
Over the course of three days, the EMAP Networking Conference convenes a diverse range of formats—including presentations, panel discussions, and exhibitions—fostering a dynamic environment for exchange among the network’s stakeholders and their partners. The programme is open to all those with an interest in media arts. A central highlight is the presentation of projects by artists selected through the 2026 EMAP open call, which will be further developed through international residency programmes.
This conference serves as both a launch platform and a catalyst for the annual European residency programme, encouraging dialogue between artistic practices, research, and institutional frameworks. As part of a network comprising organisations from across Europe, the event supports the development of collaborations, the sharing of knowledge, and the international circulation of artistic projects.
Co-funded by the European Union’s Creative Europe programme, EMAP stands as one of Europe’s leading networks dedicated to media art. It promotes the creation, production, and dissemination of new works through residencies, exhibitions, and opportunities for critical exchange. Bringing together institutions from fifteen European countries, gnration is the only Portuguese cultural institution operating at a national scale to be part of this network.
