Imaginary Cartographies is a project that links Braga to Enghien-les-Bains
Braga and the French city of Enghien-les-Bains are part of the official programme for the Portugal-France Season 2022, which runs from February to October 2022. Over the coming months, the two cities will collaborate on the Imaginary Cartographies project, which will involve young people from both cities in exploring the values of European cultural heritage, citizenship and mobility.
As part of the Imaginary Cartographies project, selected young participants will be invited to explore the creative potential of digital arts alongside two artists from France and Portugal. Together, they will imagine a shared territory that connects both cities, transcending linguistic and cultural differences. By placing young people at the heart of the initiative, the two cities seek to foster curiosity and open new pathways for artistic and cultural exchange, creating spaces for encounter and collaboration in both physical and virtual contexts.
Season Portugal–France 2022 is a bilateral cooperation programme celebrating the cultural ties between Portugal and France. Its objective is to stimulate new collaborations among artists, scientists, researchers, and entrepreneurs from both countries. Each nation serves as a platform for the other, showcasing its culture, language, and contemporary perspectives. The programme encompasses a wide range of fields, including heritage, artistic creation (theatre, dance, photography, music, literature, and cinema), scientific and historical research, education and training, technological and business innovation, gastronomy, and fashion, through joint initiatives led by Portuguese and French institutions.
